Mike was shocked to see Zach. The possibility of being found by someone he knew hadn’t crossed his mind, and now he wished he’d fixed up his mouth after all. The look in Zach’s eyes though, even though it was brutal, half made Mike’s heart jump, because he recognized…
Mike allowed himself to be led to the bathroom, knowing full well it was no use arguing with Zach because, since they were practically brothers, there was no way he’d let this slide. Choosing not to foul up another sink, he spat into the one he’d been using earlier, freshening the mess. He turned back to Zach and grinned toothily and redly. He knew it was disgusting, but he could do that with his best friend. Hoisting himself onto a sink, he whipped out a cigarette, lit it with a simple spell and puffing, began to talk.
“I’m in love dude… I really am. Parvati is without a doubt the best thing that’s ever happened to me. But…” He paused, his eyes already stinging, “but sometimes when you love someone, you do stupid shit because of that right?” His eyes were now watering slightly, and his voice shook as he looked up at Zach, whose face was now filled with worry. “You can’t excuse it, but love can scare people… make them fuck up, right?”
